Who is a LEGACY VIDEO for?

Legacy videos are filmed about an individual or couple, but they are for everyone.

Adult children, young grandchildren, and generations to come will be able to see their loved one(s) as complete and complex people, outside of their often oversimplified role as a parent, grandparent, or ancestor.

Can I purchase this as a gift?

Absolutely! In fact, it's a gift that the entire family will enjoy.

These videos make an excellent gift for parents, grandparents, and spouses, on birthdays, anniversaries, life milestones, or "just because."

We can coordinate with you to surprise them while still involving them in the planning process.

Can I choose which stories I share?

Yes. Your interview will be completely unique to you, in part because of your choices in the Pre-Interview Questionnaire.

Do you travel?

For the time being, we are limited to serving the Central Texas, Houston, and Dallas areas.

Can I use old pictures or videos?

Yes, please do!

Each video package has an allotted number of pictures or documents that can be scanned into digital form, and there is NO CHARGE for incorporating the digital photos or video that you already have.

How long does the whole project take?

We can begin the pre-production process as early as you would like.

From the date of the interview to delivery of the final video, the typical timeline is 4 to 6 weeks.

We'll discuss your "need by" date during your free consultation, and I'll keep in touch with updates throughout each phase of the project.

How do I pay?

Projects are broken down into three phases, aligning with the phases of the project:

• 20% non-refundable deposit to begin project pre-production,

• 40% due before the day of the interview filming

• 40% due at the completion of post-production, at which time your final video will be delivered.

For your convenience, you'll receive emailed invoices at each stage of the process, and these emails will contain a secure online payment portal.

How long does filming the interview take?

The package you choose will have a predetermined interview duration, but it's important to note that I'll need about 45 minutes beforehand to set up your lights and cameras, then about 30 minutes afterward for set breakdown.

So the quick answer is, filming takes however long your interview will be, plus 1h 15m. If building the set doesn't take the full 45 minutes, we can start early and add the extra time to your interview.

Can I make copies of my finished video?

Yes! In fact, I encourage you to do so!

Your final video will be delivered as a downloadable file, online. Once you have that file, you can copy it and share it with as many people as you would like, so that they can view it as often as they would like.

Your finished video will also be available, simply for viewing, on both the Your Own Story website and the Your Own Story Youtube channel.
